Servolution

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Servolution!  Several times a year the McKinney Church family joins with our local community for the purpose of loving our city together.  We believe that God can revolutionize our community through serving.  We call this a Servolution.

God has been using hundreds of our people to make a difference in the lives of others during this project.  We’d love for you to join the Servolution!

Our Next Servolution is
COWTOWN CLEANUP

Each year Fort Worth gathers several thousand people to help clean up some areas of the city. Last year we had a thousand people from McKinney participate. This is a great way for McKinney Church to invest in our community and show the the people of Fort Worth that we care!

Joining the Cowtown Cleanup will give us a great chance to serve next to other people who care about the city. Some of these likely won’t be part of any faith community. Additionally, since this event is sponsored by the city and not the church, it is also a tremendous opportunity for us to invite our neighbors and friends and co-workers to join with us.

We also encourage Community Groups and families to serve together to help forge  deeper relationships, even as the Lord uses us to make a difference in the lives of those in our community.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO?

Sign up using the link above.
Block out March 22 on your calendar. The Cleanup is scheduled to run from 8am-11am.
We will follow up with you to let you know details about the exact location where you will be serving…
Don’t forget to invite friends or neighbors or coworkers to join in Servolution with you. They can sign up at this site as well.
Then plan to show up at your assigned location at 8.00am on March.

What will we be doing?

The City of Fort Worth assigns projects very close to the date of the event… so we cannot tell you prior to the week of what your exact project will be. Once we find out we will let you know! If you are going as a group we recommend that someone from the group visit your work site in advance to make sure you will have all the tools or equipment you might need.

Do we have to stay for all three hours?

Ideally, yes, but there should be plenty of hands at each location so if you need to leave early that shouldn’t be a problem.

Can kids participate?

DEFINITELY. Please plan to bring younger children. You will of course want to keep an eye on them, but our desire is for whole families and community groups to serve together. Yes, it is less efficient as it relates to the project itself, but more important than efficiency is for families and groups to do life and engage our world together. Please bring your whole family or group and experience the blessing of “getting a little messy” together.

What should we bring?

The Cleanup organizers are supplying t-shirts, trash bags and gloves. You should be able to pick those up at the church the week of March 17. Be sure also to bring water with you on the day itself, and don’t forget your sunscreen.

Thank you in advance for being the hands and feet of Jesus for those
who are far from God…
