Transform in Community

"For the Life of the World" is a 7-week series running September 9 – October 21, and we will have Neighborhood Groups all over our city. This creative and entertaining series explores how God's plan for the world is not just for getting people to heaven. Instead God's purposes are woven into every area of our lives: Family, work, education, government, recreation, and all of creation!

Our Vision for Community

We believe the best place to connect more deeply with God and each other is in community. Throughout scripture, it is clear that God uses our relationships with each to sharpen and refine us, and to ultimately draw us closer to Him. Our hope is that you would find a home here with the McKinney family, and that you would become more like Christ in the process.

Community Groups

It’s a great environment to develop authentic, caring relationships, and to put into practice what we are learning about a life under God’s leadership. Community Groups usually meet in homes during the week and include interactive Bible discussions. The groups also have social gatherings and regular times to serve in their community.

Running Partners

Great runners know that if you want to run better, farther, faster, it's best to find someone who can run alongside you. At McKinney, we encourage everyone to have one or two people they are "running with" regularly who will push them, pace them, and help them persevere. We've produced a resource which is a fantastic starter-resource for Running Partners.

As in any relationship it is important that the connection be natural and not forced. This helps to foster trust in the process. As a result, there is no formal sign-up process to find a Running Partner. It is an organic ministry of the church. Community Groups at McKinney are a great place for these kind of relationships to emerge, so joining a group would be a natural step towards finding a Running Partner if you are looking for one.
